Moscow Airport Unveils the Sleep Box

The newly opened “Sleep Box” in Moscow airport has been designed with passenger comfort in mind.

In mid-August 2011, the first SLEEPBOX was installed at the Aeroexpress terminal of Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow, Russia. It represents the base version made of MDF with a natural ash-tree veneer. This SLEEPBOX attracted such a great deal of interest from passengers and big companies that chances are first commercially operated boxes will be installed at airports and in the city by the end of this year.

For passengers with a long layover or a delayed flight, the “Sleep Box” in Moscow airport offers a comfortable bed to sleep or simply relax after a long day of travelling. The affordable “Sleep Box” units feature bunk style beds with space for one’s luggage and a fold out desk. Situated near boarding gates the “Sleep Box” can be rented for as short as thirty minutes. Considerably spacious, the “Sleep Box” provides passengers with the option of resting in a comfortable private area close to their boarding gate. For passengers with a very long layover the airport seats are too awkward to comfortably rest in and leaving the airport only to come back and go through customs and security again is too much of hassle. This is where the “Sleep Box” comes in handy.
